Sous Chef – The Greenman, Ashbourne - Join Our Kitchen Team
The Greenman is an independently owned gastro pub in the heart of Ashbourne, renowned for exceptional food, warm hospitality, and a commitment to quality. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Sous Chef to join our passionate kitchen team.
Working alongside our Head Chef, you will play a key role in delivering fresh, seasonal dishes, maintaining high standards, and supporting the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations
- Assisting with menu development and seasonal specials
- Leading and motivating the kitchen team during service
- Ensuring consistently high food quality and presentation
- Maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards
- Assisting with stock control, ordering, and minimising waste
- Training and developing junior members of the team
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready for the next step
- Passion for fresh food and quality ingredients
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a busy kitchen
- High standards of cleanliness and attention to detail
- A positive attitude and team-focused approach
