A highly respected and well-established secondary school in Enfield is building its new September support team. We will be looking for full-time Graduate Teaching Assistants for long-term positions starting in September 2026.

These are long-term opportunities for graduates who are passionate about supporting young people and gaining meaningful experience within education and SEND. Interviews will take place throughout the end of May and June for successful candidates available to start from 1st September.

This is a mainstream scondary school, and some students may have a range of additional needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication difficulties. Working Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 4:20pm
- Friday: 8:30am – 3:15pm
- 30-minute lunch break
The school operates across two sites in Enfield, and staff are provided with a paid taxi service when travelling between locations.
Key Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant / SEND Teaching Assistant Role:
- Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups across a range of subjects and activities
- Building strong, positive relationships with students to encourage confidence, engagement and emotional wellbeing
- Assisting students with SEND needs including SEMH, Autism, ADHD and communication difficulties
- Supporting students inside and outside of the classroom to help them remain focused, regulated and motivated throughout the school day
- Working closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff to provide consistent support and maintain a positive learning environment
- Helping students develop social skills, independence, emotional regulation and confidence in education
- Adapting learning materials and activities to meet individual student needs and learning styles
- Encouraging positive behaviour and using calm, patient approaches to de-escalate challenging situations where necessary
- Supporting with literacy, numeracy and GCSE-level learning where appropriate
- Creating a safe, encouraging and inclusive environment where students feel supported both academically and emotionally
What We Are Looking For:
- Graduates with a 2:1 or above preferred, ideally from Russell Group universities
- Bright, mature, professional and kind individuals with a genuine passion for supporting young people
- Strong communicators with warm, positive and confident personalities
- Individuals with previous experience supporting children or young people through tutoring, nannying, mentoring, coaching, youth work, care work or school-based roles
- Candidates with some exposure to SEND or SEMH needs, whether professionally or personally
- Graduates considering future careers in teaching, educational psychology, therapy, SEN support or pastoral care
- Confident individuals who can build trust and rapport with students from different backgrounds
- Candidates comfortable supporting students both academically and emotionally
- Reliable, proactive and adaptable team players who can work across multiple school sites in Enfield
- Individuals available full-time from 1st September and committed to a long-term position
