Waking Night Support Worker – Ofsted-Regulated Children’s Home-Learning Disabilities

Salary: £13 per hour
Hours: Night shifts from 22pm until 8am, Monday to Sunday, 3 days on followed by 3 days off on a rolling rota.
Contract: Full-time/permanent

The Role
As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people during the night. You will provide emotional support, manage any incidents calmly and effectively, and follow care plans to ensure a consistent and therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety, security, and wellbeing of young people overnight
Respond to any night-time incidents calmly and professionally
Carry out regular checks throughout the night in line with care plans
Support children who may wake distressed or anxious, providing reassurance
Complete detailed and accurate records and reports
Follow safeguarding procedures and work in line with Ofsted regulations
About You:
✔ Experience in residential childcare or similar support roles (preferred but not essential)
✔ A compassionate, patient, and resilient nature
✔ Ability to work independently and remain alert throughout the night
✔ Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection (training provided)
✔ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it)
