Drayne's Dairy Farm is an award-winning family-owned dairy and ice cream manufacturer based in Lisburn. We produce premium ice cream using milk from our own dairy herd and supply customers across Northern Ireland and beyond.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for an Ice Cream Pasteuriser Operator to join our production team and play a key role in the manufacture of high-quality ice cream mixes.
The Role
You will be responsible for preparing, pasteurising, and transferring ice cream mixes while ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, and efficiency. This is a hands-on production role operating modern automated processing equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor ice cream mix preparation and pasteurisation equipment.
- Accurately weigh and add ingredients according to recipes.
- Complete pasteurisation and homogenisation processes to specification.
- Transfer finished mixes to ageing tanks.
- Carry out quality checks and maintain accurate production records.
- Perform CIP (Clean-in-Place) cleaning procedures.
- Monitor ingredient stocks and report shortages.
- Assist with basic equipment troubleshooting and liaise with engineering teams.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, housekeeping, and food safety.
- Follow HACCP, health & safety, and quality procedures.
- Support the ice cream filling and production teams as required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking ForEssential
- Experience within food manufacturing, dairy processing, or FMCG production.
- Strong attention to detail and good numerical skills.
- Ability to follow recipes, procedures, and production schedules accurately.
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible approach to work during busy production periods.
Desirable
- Experience operating pasteurisers, homogenisers, or dairy processing equipment.
- Knowledge of CIP systems and automated process control.
- Forklift licence.
- Experience working within BRCGS or similar quality systems.
- Basic mechanical fault-finding skills.
