Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Passive Fire Protection Specialist to join our construction team. Responsibilities
- Install passive fire protection materials such as fire-resistant boards, spray coatings, and intumescent paints in accordance with project specifications and safety standards
- Conduct detailed inspections of existing fireproofing systems to identify deficiencies or damages requiring repair or replacement
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to coordinate installation schedules and ensure seamless integration with other building systems
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to cut, shape, and secure fireproofing materials on various surfaces including steel, concrete, and masonry
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans to accurately execute fire protection installations
- Perform fabrication and custom fitting of fireproofing components to meet specific project requirements
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and inspection reports for compliance purposes
Experience
- Proven experience in passive fire protection installation within commercial or industrial construction projects
- Must have NQV Level 2 qualification with a CSCS card
- Familiarity with electrical systems and schematics relevant to integrated building safety features is a plus
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, fabrication techniques, and construction painting is essential
- Knowledge of safety regulations and standards governing fireproofing materials and methods
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately
- Construction experience involving multiple trades enhances your effectiveness in this role
