Job Summary- Sales /Estimator
Goode Plumbing and Heating is seeking an experienced and motivated Sales / Estimator with strong technical knowledge in plumbing and heating systems. This position plays a key role in evaluating customer needs, preparing accurate estimates, and selling plumbing and heating solutions for residential and light commercial projects. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with excellent customer service and sales skills.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Engagement
- Meet with customers to evaluate plumbing and heating needs at residential and light commercial properties
- Present and sell plumbing and heating solutions that meet customer needs, budgets, and code requirements
- Build trust with customers through clear explanations of systems, options, and pricing
- Follow up on estimates and proposals to close sales
- Maintain a professional image while representing Goode Plumbing and Heating
Estimating & Technical Responsibilities
- Perform detailed on-site evaluations to determine project scope, materials, labour, and timelines
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for plumbing, heating, and mechanical work
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical specifications
- Apply technical knowledge of:
- Boilers, furnaces, and water heaters (tank and tankless)
- Radiant and hydronic heating systems
- Gas piping, water supply, and drainage systems
- Plumbing and mechanical codes and industry standards
- Coordinate with technicians and management to ensure estimates reflect actual job requirements
Project Support
- Assist with job handoff from sales to operations
- Address scope changes, technical questions, and customer concerns during projects
- Support scheduling, material selection, and cost control when needed
Qualifications
Required
- Experience in plumbing and/or heating sales or estimating
- Strong technical understanding of plumbing and heating systems
- Ability to read plans and job specifications
- Excellent communication, customer service, and negotiation skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred
- Previous field experience as a plumber or HVAC/heating technician
- Knowledge of local plumbing and mechanical codes
- Experience with estimating software or CRM systems
- Background in residential and light commercial work
- Commercial gas and plumbing

Salary
- £35,000 basic with sales commission up to £60,000
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £40,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
