You will be working in the Building Services OU based in Walsall Hospital in where we are responsible for supporting hospitals nationwide, ensuring clean, well-ventilated, and heated spaces that aid patient recovery. We help cut energy use, carbon emissions, and waste costs, drawing on global best practice from over 400 healthcare projects.
We are currently looking for a Estates Maintenance Worker Higher Level who will provide rotating shift cover, to cover all aspects of hospital building maintenance and reactive repairs. To be able to react to any emergency or breakdown within a predetermined time period.
As the Estates Maintenance Worker Higher Level, you will:

Provide a contact for staff to attend to all emergencies within the site, within a predetermined response time.

To solve problems where possible and make repairs to all plant and equipment within specified time.

To respond to any emergency that may occur with the engineering/electrical and building infrastructure and complete appropriate repair working to solve problems that may occur from technical issues where possible.

To carry out planned preventative maintenance on plant and equipment, complying with statutory and contract obligations.

To comply with the response and repair times of the PMS that will be required by the department.
We are looking for:

Knowledge of two or more mechanical/electrical/building skills, acquired through HNC/BTEC/C&G training course plus a recognised apprenticeship in one core skill.

Knowledge of engineering/building services with at least 5 years experience in building services maintenance.

Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation and regulations.

Basic computer skills are required.

Will be required to achieve good communications with colleagues and liaise with hospital staff at all levels throughout the organisation during the course of their normal duties.
