Overview
We are seeking a reliable and friendly Shop Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, supporting daily shop operations, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all our Customers . The ideal candidate will be organised, proactive, and possess strong communication skills. Previous experience in food retail and bakery is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop valuable skills within a dynamic retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their enquiries to ensure a positive shopping experience
- Operate the shop’s point-of-sale system, including processing transactions accurately and efficiently
- Maintain the organisation and cleanliness of the shop floor and stock areas
- Support stock replenishment by receiving deliveries and organising stock displays
- Assist with administrative duties such as updating records and managing inventory lists using basic IT programmes
- Provide information about products and services to customers, promoting sales where appropriate
- Handle customer feedback or complaints professionally, escalating issues when necessary
- Support team members with general shop duties to ensure smooth daily operations
