The Role:
We are seeking a motivated and commercially aware Lightning Protection Estimator to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with experience within lightning protection, earthing, construction, or electrical infrastructure sectors who is looking to join the UK's market leader in lightning protection and height safety solutions.
As a Lightning Protection Estimator, you will play a key role in securing new business opportunities by preparing accurate and competitive tenders for lightning protection, earthing, surge protection, and associated specialist projects. Working closely with clients, surveyors, designers, and operational teams, you will assess project requirements, develop cost-effective solutions, and support the successful delivery of projects from tender stage through to handover.
The successful candidate will be confident in interpreting client specifications, attending site surveys and tender meetings, and identifying commercial opportunities while maintaining Omega Red's high standards of quality and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve monthly sales and tender targets through the preparation of competitive quotations and successful tender submissions

Attend client meetings, tender presentations, and construction site visits to understand project requirements and confidently promote Omega Red's lightning protection and earthing solutions

Produce accurate designs, estimates, and quotations that meet client specifications, project requirements, and industry standards

Ensure all tenders and quotations remain commercially competitive whilst maintaining profitability and quality standards

Develop, maintain, and nurture strong client relationships to secure repeat business and identify new opportunities

Work closely with the Estimating Lead and Delivery Teams to support business objectives and ensure smooth project handovers

Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to support effective pricing and business growth strategies

Maintain accurate records of quotations, tenders, client interactions, and sales activity using company systems and CRM platforms
Support the continued growth of the business through proactive customer engagement and opportunity identification

What You’ll Need:
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience within the construction industry, ideally within a specialist contracting environment

Strong understanding of tendering processes, bid preparation, and pricing strategies

Excellent customer-facing skills with the ability to build credibility and develop long-term client relationships

Ability to understand client requirements and develop clear, accurate, and commercially viable tender submissions

Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of contractual obligations and project risk

Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills

Highly organised with strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously

Self-motivated, driven, and passionate about supporting business growth and securing new opportunities
Ability to maintain existing customer relationships whilst actively generating additional business opportunities

Desirable Experience
- Experience within the Lightning Protection industry

Knowledge and understanding of BS EN 62305 standards

Experience estimating specialist electrical, earthing, lightning protection, or related construction projects
Qualifications
Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
