We are a Family owned / run establishment- looking to build a new kitchen brigade
We are seeking an Experienced Chef to lead our culinary team and deliver exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess extensive culinary expertise, proven leadership skills, and a passion for food preparation and presentation and to assist the Head chef. This role involves supervising kitchen operations, managing food production, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. The successful applicant will play a key role in inspiring the team, developing innovative menus, and maintaining a welcoming environment for guests.
Duties
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Prepare high-quality dishes in line with restaurant standards, focusing on presentation and flavour
- Develop new recipes and menu items to enhance customer experience and meet market trends
- Monitor food production processes to optimise efficiency and minimise waste
- Maintain strict compliance with food safety standards and hygiene protocols
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs effectively
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained properly and report any repairs needed
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Deep understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality settings
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
- Experience in menu development, food presentation, and customer service excellence
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, serving procedures, and hospitality standards
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and management
