As a Self-Employed Taxi Driver, you will provide safe, reliable, and professional passenger transport services while operating your own business. You will be responsible for managing your working hours, maintaining excellent customer service, planning efficient routes, and ensuring your vehicle is clean, roadworthy, and compliant with all licensing and safety regulations. This role offers the flexibility to choose when you work while delivering a high-quality transport service to members of the public.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport passengers to their destinations using the most efficient and appropriate routes.
- Provide friendly, professional, and courteous customer service at all times.
- Assist passengers with luggage, mobility aids, and other reasonable requests where appropriate.
- Keep the vehicle clean, well-maintained, and presentable inside and out.
- Carry out routine vehicle safety checks and arrange servicing, MOTs, and repairs as required.
- Comply with all road traffic laws, local authority licensing conditions, and private hire or taxi regulations.
- Accurately collect fares using cash, card payments, or mobile payment systems where applicable.
- Maintain accurate records of fares, mileage, fuel costs, expenses, and income for tax purposes.
- Plan routes efficiently using satellite navigation and local knowledge to minimise journey times.
- Promote your services by maintaining excellent customer satisfaction, encouraging repeat business, and building a positive reputation.
- Manage your own work schedule, including accepting bookings and balancing busy and quiet periods.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or customer concerns in accordance with licensing requirements.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Taxi Driver, Private Hire Driver, Chauffeur, Delivery Driver, or in another customer-facing driving role is desirable but not essential.
- A valid UK driving licence with the appropriate Taxi or Private Hire Driver Licence issued by the relevant local authority.
- Excellent knowledge of local roads and the ability to use satellite navigation systems effectively.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and courteous in all situations.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing your own workload.
- Basic understanding of self-employment responsibilities, including invoicing, bookkeeping, and tax record keeping.

Payment
- Divers keep all the fares.
- Drivers pay a weekly rental fee of £50.00
Pay: £25,420.00-£98,614.34 per year
