We're a busy Bosch Car Service garage in Walsall looking for a Master Technician to be the most senior pair of hands in the workshop.
You'll be doing the full range of work yourself — servicing, general repairs, MOT testing, EV health checks and battery replacement — and you'll also be the person who quality-checks everyone else's work before it goes back to the customer. Nothing leaves the ramp without your sign-off.
We fund all training. If you're missing a ticket — MOT, EV and hybrid, F-Gas air conditioning, Bosch technical courses — we put you through it and pay for it. We'd rather take on the right technician and qualify them than wait months for someone who ticks every box on day one.
This is a permanent, full-time role: Monday to Friday, with alternate Saturday mornings.
What you'll be doing
- Quality control — final check and sign-off on the workshop's work before it's handed back to the customer
- Servicing and general repair work across all makes and models
- MOT testing (Class 4, and Class 7 if you hold it or want to add it)
- EV and hybrid health checks and battery replacement
- Advanced fault diagnosis on the jobs the rest of the team can't crack — electrical faults, engine management, drivability problems
- Supporting and mentoring the wider technician team and raising the standard of work across the workshop
- Keeping clear job records and giving customers honest, straightforward technical explanations
What you'll need
- Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent time-served experience
- A strong all-round technician with real diagnostic ability — comfortable being the person others come to when they're stuck
- The judgement and confidence to check another technician's work and send it back when it isn't right
- Full UK driving licence
Nice to have, but we'll train you
- Level 4 / IMI Master Technician accreditation or manufacturer master technician status
- Current DVSA MOT Tester licence (Class 4 and/or 7)
- IMI EV and hybrid qualification
- F-Gas air conditioning certification

Pay: £32,900.03-£42,000.00 per year
