SEND Teaching Assistant – Autism (ASC)
Location: Barnet
Pay: £93.59–£110 per day PAYE (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time | Term Time Only

We are working with a number of welcoming specialist and mainstream schools in Barnet seeking compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Autism (ASC). These are long-term opportunities for individuals who are passionate about helping children develop confidence, communication skills and independence.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and therapists to provide personalised support, adapting learning activities to meet individual needs while creating a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
The role:
- Supporting children with Autism (ASC) across the school day.
- Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Encouraging communication, social interaction and independence.
- Supporting learning both in the classroom and through small group or one-to-one interventions.
- Implementing behaviour support strategies and promoting emotional regulation.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and therapists.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly Autism (ASC).
- Is patient, empathetic and resilient.
- Can remain calm and adaptable in different situations.
- Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Is committed to making a positive difference to children's lives.
