The Opportunity
Is your current job a bit too routine? Fancy a role where no two days look the same — out on the road, meeting people, fixing things, and being the person clients are genuinely pleased to see?
We're Eco Printers, a West London company that's been looking after schools, nurseries and hospitality businesses for over 20 years with a fixed-price, unlimited colour printing service. Our clients stick with us — for many, for years — because of the people who turn up and sort things out for them.
We're looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our small, friendly team. You don't need a background in printers or IT. What you do need is a genuine can-do attitude, a knack for hands-on problem-solving, and the kind of customer service instinct that makes people trust you the moment you walk in.
We'll teach you the technical side — most new starters are confidently handling the job within about 10 days of training. What we can't teach is attitude, reliability, and a willingness to get stuck in. That's what we're hiring for.
What You'll Be Doing
- Visiting schools, nurseries and business clients to service and maintain their printers
- Diagnosing and fixing issues on-site — paper feeds, error messages, connectivity, general troubleshooting
- Setting up new equipment and helping clients get comfortable using it
- Being the friendly, reliable face of Eco Printers — the person clients are glad to see when something's gone wrong
- Keeping clear records of the work you do so the rest of the team always knows what's happened on-site
What We're Looking For
This role is about 70-75% people and 25-30% technical know-how — so if you're brilliant with customers but have never opened up a printer, that's absolutely fine.
You'll fit right in if you've worked in:
- Retail or hospitality customer service
- Delivery driving, especially for premium or high-end services
- Restaurant or venue management
- Trades, maintenance, or any hands-on "fix it" type role
- Vending, appliance, alarm, or similar field-based servicing
Essential:
- A full, clean UK driving licence (manual) and confidence driving on motorways
- Right to Work in the UK (No sponsorship is offered)
- A genuine can-do attitude — happy to learn, happy to muck in
- Strong, natural customer service skills — patient, calm, and good with people
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own day
- Practical, hands-on aptitude (think: comfortable holding a screwdriver, not afraid of a bit of DIY)
Nice to have, not essential:
- Any prior experience with printers, IT, or networking
- Experience in a field service or engineer role
What You'll Get
- Full training — we'll get you up to speed in around 10 days
- A supportive, small team where everyone pitches in (no office politics, no drama)
- Transport and tools provided
- Real variety — every day is a different site, a different client, a different challenge
- The chance to build a proper trade skill while doing what you're already good at: looking after people
