Sirhowy Garage is a well-established independent garage with an excellent reputation for quality workmanship and outstanding customer service. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician to join our professional and friendly team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both carrying out MOT tests and working as a hands-on technician. We invest in modern equipment, maintain high workshop standards, and are committed to supporting our team's development.
The Role
As an MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Carrying out Class 4 MOT tests in accordance with DVSA standards
- Diagnosing vehicle faults using modern diagnostic equipment
- Performing servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs on a wide range of vehicles
- Replacing and repairing components including brakes, suspension, steering, clutches, timing belts/chains, exhausts and other mechanical systems
- Identifying additional work required and reporting findings accurately
- Completing all job cards, MOT documentation and digital records correctly
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop
- Ensuring all work is completed efficiently and to the highest standard
Essential Requirements
- Valid Class 4 MOT Tester licence
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service
