Repairs Supervisor
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Repairs Supervisor to oversee and coordinate repairs and maintenance activities within a facilities management environment. This role requires strong supervisory skills, effective communication, and the ability to ensure repair works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required standards. You will be responsible for monitoring work quality, supporting day-to-day operations, liaising with contractors and customers, and ensuring compliance with relevant council policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise repairs and maintenance activities within the facilities management service
- Monitor the quality, progress, and completion of repair works
- Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with required standards
- Communicate effectively with contractors, colleagues, and customers
- Respond to enquiries and provide excellent customer service
- Support the delivery of day-to-day facilities management operations
- Ensure compliance with relevant council policies, procedures, and requirements
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a repairs supervision or facilities management role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage workloads and prioritise tasks effectively
- Good customer service skills
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Ability to provide proof of identity and National Insurance number
- Ability to provide three years of written employment references, with any gaps in employment verified
- Basic DBS disclosure (valid within the last 12 months), if required
- Willingness to attend an in-person interview
Desirable Requirements
- Experience working within a local authority or public sector environment
- Knowledge of council procedures and compliance requirements
- Relevant licences, qualifications, or professional registrations applicable to the role
