Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Floor Layer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of flooring across commercial and residential projects. Your expertise will ensure that flooring installations are completed efficiently, accurately, and to the highest standards of quality. Responsibilities
- Prepare subfloor surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary primers or adhesives
- Measure and cut flooring materials precisely using hand tools and power tools to fit designated spaces
- Install a variety of flooring types including hardwood, laminate, vinyl, tile, and carpet according to project specifications
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation
- Use construction painting techniques to prepare surfaces before flooring installation when required
- Operate power tools safely and effectively to cut, shape, and secure flooring materials
- Collaborate with team members and project managers to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards
Requirements
- Proven construction experience with a focus on flooring installation or related trades
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as saws, hammers, chisels, and measuring tapes
- Strong carpentry skills with the ability to read schematics and technical drawings
- Knowledge of construction painting techniques for surface preparation
- Experience working with power tools safely and efficiently
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
