Family Support Worker – Supervised Family Contact
To support children and families during supervised contact sessions, ensuring that visits take place in a safe, positive, and child-focused environment. The Family Support Worker will observe interactions, promote healthy relationships, maintain accurate records, and contribute to safeguarding and family support plans.
Key Responsibilities
- supervise contact sessions between children and their parents, family members, or carers.
- Ensure the safety, welfare, and emotional wellbeing of children throughout contact visits.
- Provide practical and emotional support to parents and children before, during, and after contact sessions.
- Observe and objectively record interactions, behaviours, and significant events during contact visits.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and factual reports for social workers, courts, and other professionals as required.
- Support families in developing positive parenting skills and appropriate child-focused interactions.
- Maintain professional boundaries while building positive working relationships with children and families.
- Identify and report safeguarding concerns in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
- Assist with planning and arranging contact sessions, including transport and venue preparation where required.
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection requirements.
