We are a family owned independent free of tie village pub situated in a rural area just outside of Upton upon Severn.
We pride ourselves in offering traditional pub food and friendly but efficient staff.
We are seeking an experienced hands on Deputy Manager, that thrives on offering a friendly relaxed dining experience whilst ensuring exceptional service, quality food, and a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team, manage daily activities, and uphold high standards of hospitality in a vibrant community setting. The Deputy Manager will support the overall management of the pub, coordinate food and beverage service, and provide a positive environment that encourages teamwork and customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Assist the Owners in supervising daily pub operations, including opening, closing, and maintaining smooth workflow
- Support the chef manager in the management of the Kitchen and food service.
- Support team members in serving customers efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
- Manage inventory levels for food, beverages, and supplies, ensuring proper stock control and food safety compliance
- Supervise staff schedules, provide training on food safety, kitchen procedures, and customer service techniques
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are upheld in all areas of the pub, including kitchen and dining spaces
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints promptly to enhance guest experience
- Support promotional activities and community engagement initiatives
Skills
- Previous experience in Epos tills, back office, and Canva design.
- Proven experience in thinking out of the box for new ideas and experienced in the use of social media
- Proven supervising experience in hospitality or restaurant environments
- Strong team management skills.
- Extensive restaurant or culinary experience with knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food production
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Experience in serving customers in a hospitality setting with a focus on service excellence
- Knowledge of barista skills or bar service is a plus for beverage offerings
- Ability to handle kitchen operations effectively, including food presentation and quality control
- Previous hotel or bar experience is advantageous for understanding diverse guest needs
