As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop independence and build the confidence they need to thrive both academically and personally.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting pupils with a range of needs, including autism, SEMH, ADHD, speech and language needs, and complex learning difficulties.
- Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access learning.
- Encouraging communication, emotional development and positive behaviour.
- Working alongside teachers, therapists and support staff to deliver personalised support.
- Helping to create a safe, structured and engaging environment where every pupil feels valued.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND is essential.
- Experience within a SEND school, specialist setting, education, care or support environment.
- A patient, resilient and compassionate approach.
- The ability to build positive relationships and adapt support to meet individual needs.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
