Residential Support Worker (Children's Home) – Bank Staff

About the Role
This is a bank position, offering flexible work to cover shifts as required, including evenings, weekends, sleep-ins, and holidays. Bank staff play a vital role in ensuring continuity of care and support for our young people. While hours are not guaranteed, there may be opportunities for regular shifts depending on service needs.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Knowledge and/or experience of Ofsted standards
- Ideally, at least two years' experience in a similar role (although we will consider applicants with less experience who hold a relevant qualification)
Desirable Qualifications & Background
- Level 3 Health and Social Care or Children and Young People's Workforce (or equivalent)
- Experience in education, probation, youth work, or the wider care sector
- Understanding of safeguarding and regulatory requirements
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide a caring, supportive, and nurturing environment where young people feel safe, valued, and protected
- Follow each young person's care plan and adapt it as their needs change
- Support with day-to-day practical tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a positive home environment
- Act as a positive role model, offering advice, guidance, and emotional support
- Build warm, professional relationships with young people that promote trust, growth, and stability
