Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Person to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities and equipment. This role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance, contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of our operations. Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of machinery and facilities to prevent breakdowns
- Repair and replace faulty components using welding, electrical, and mechanical skills
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to diagnose issues
- Programme and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimise equipment performance
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed
- Supervise junior team members or contractors during maintenance tasks when required
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all maintenance activities
- Assist in the development of preventative maintenance schedules and procedures
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to repair requests from internal departments
Qualifications
- Proven experience in maintenance roles with strong mechanical knowledge
- Proficiency in working with schematics, electrical systems, and PLC programming
- Skilled in welding and basic electrical repairs
- Knowledge of industrial equipment, machinery, and safety standards
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is desirable
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and task management
