Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with postal transactions, including mailing, shipping, and purchasing postage
- Process incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and shipments accurately using computer systems and manual methods
- Maintain organised records of stock and balancing procedures.
- Answer customer inquiries with professional etiquette, providing clear information on postal services
- Manage data entry tasks efficiently, ensuring all information is correct and up-to-date
- Support administrative duties such as sorting mail and preparing Royal Mail and Parcel Force collections.
- Carry out routine tests, ensuring adherence to operational procedures to ensure the Post Office remains a secure environment for staff and visitors
Qualifications
- Strong organisational skills are essential
- Previous office experience or clerical experience preferred but not required
- Proficiency in computer skills
- The ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Ability to multitask, while maintaining accuracy during busy periods
- Familiarity with basic postal procedures or administrative tasks is advantageous but not mandatory
