About the Role
We are looking for a Manual QA Engineer with strong experience testing native mobile applications across both iOS and Android platforms. This is a 100% manual testing role (no automation required) where you'll work closely with developers and product teams to ensure high-quality mobile releases.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with mobile testing, API validation, defect management, regression testing, and is comfortable working in an Agile development environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual testing of native iOS and Android applications.
- Execute functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
- Create detailed test cases, test plans, and test scenarios.
- Log, track, and manage defects using JIRA.
- Validate APIs using Postman and Charles Proxy.
- Test builds locally on physical iOS and Android devices.
- Install and validate production/test builds using Firebase (or similar distribution tools).
- Work closely with developers to reproduce and resolve issues.
- Participate in sprint planning, grooming, and release activities.
- Verify fixes and perform regression testing before production releases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality product delivery.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of Manual QA experience.
- Strong experience testing native mobile applications on both iOS and Android.
- Hands-on API testing experience using Postman.
- Experience using Charles Proxy for network traffic analysis and debugging.
- Experience creating and managing defects in JIRA.
- Strong regression, functional, integration, and exploratory testing experience.
- Understanding of GitHub repositories and basic Git workflows.
- Experience testing applications locally on physical iOS and Android devices.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Experience using AI tools to write test cases
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Experience with Firebase App Distribution for installing and testing builds.
- Exposure to CI/CD tools such as:
- Jenkins
- CircleCI
- Understanding of mobile application release processes.
- Experience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Gemini) to:
- Generate test cases
- Improve test coverage
- Assist with bug analysis
- Increase QA productivity
- Experience working with mobile logs and debugging tools.
