Storefast Solutions is a dynamic, forward thinking, and progressive manufacturing, contract packing and warehousing company based in Kent.
We are looking to recruit Production Line Technicians to join our Finished Goods team on our afternoon shift (14:00-23:00, Monday to Friday).
The Finished Goods department has had significant investment and development in recent months, with more to come in the near future, and we are looking for capable, hardworking staff to operate and improve our production lines to deliver on contracts for some recognisable beverage brands.
Reporting to the shift Team Leader and Production Manager, they will be an active member on our production lines, ensuring products are manufactured in adherence with target output requirements (keeping our production schedule on track) whilst maintaining high quality standards, cost effectiveness, and ensuring waste is managed and minimised.
This role will involve working across the various production lines and production facilities within Storefast Solutions and will require a high level of versatility and flexibility.
Main Responsibilities:
- Operating production line equipment efficiently, maintaining output results against production targets and delivering on OEE (overall equipment effectiveness) requirements.
- Ensuring goods are produced to the required quality standards by following and adhering to agreed production specifications.
- Accurately updating and maintaining production records and paperwork.
- Following CIP (cleaning in place) processes for equipment and validating this through testing before use.
- Completing day-to-day production tasks as directed by their Team Leader and/or Finished Goods Manager.
- Following GMP (good manufacturing practice) guidelines at all times.
- Working within a “right first time” culture where errors and rework are minimised.
- Maintaining clean and tidy equipment and working environments through good cleanliness and housekeeping standards at all time.
- Flexibility in performing different duties around the department across filling, packing, palletisation, and stock control.
- Understanding and adherence to working standards, specifications and compliance within production.
- Following safe working practices at all times, including manual handling, working at height, and in confined spaces.
- Following equipment and company SOPs (standard operating procedures).
- Demonstrating a duty of care and customer focus by ensuring all products are handled efficiently and correctly.
- Pro-actively respond and find solutions to production issues and potential problems reporting to the Team Leader and/or Finished Goods Manager.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Closely monitoring output during operation and optimising equipment in order to maximise results.
- Troubleshooting and resolving minor mechanical and electrical faults with equipment to minimize downtime.
- Performing routine and preventative maintenance on machines to keep these operating efficiently.
- Adjusting and fine-tuning equipment settings to ensure consistently high levels of product quality and output.
- Diagnosing and reporting recurring issues, and working with the Engineering team to implement long-term solutions.
- Maintaining clear and accurate records of any maintenance activities, faults, and fixes.
- Collaborating closely with Quality, Engineering, Warehouse, and Blending teams to achieve deadlines, quality standards, equipment optimisation, and adherence to production schedule.
- Ensuring all work is completed in compliance with health and safety standards and company procedures.
- Supporting equipment changeovers and setups for new production runs.
- Recommending improvements to equipment, processes, or workflows.
Requirements:
- Proven experience operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial machinery (ideally in a manufacturing or production environment).
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible, hands-on approach with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Proactive approach and ability to complete required tasks independently.
- Understanding of health and safety procedures in a manufacturing setting.
- Mechanical and/or electrical engineering background preferred (NVQ, HNC, or equivalent).
