Role Overview
We are seeking a CNC Laser Operator Assistant to join our dedicated and quality-focused team. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist the lead operator on our Bystronic 10kw Bystar Fibre laser. This role is ideal for someone eager to work in a fast-paced, lean production environment and contribute to meeting strict daily schedules.
General Job Description
The laser assist's main responsibility is to assist in running the machine efficiently, working as part of a small team in a lean production environment. They will be responsible for hitting strict daily schedules.
Main Duties
· Responsible for organising all jobs progression through the factory
- Parts are to be accurately batched and quality checked after being cut, ready for their next stages
- Ensure to follow company policy parts and reject parts which do not conform to quality standards
· Ensure all jobs are batched, marked up and allocated to the correct places
· Pull jobs together and package ready for delivery
· Work with production to ensure jobs are completed and delivered to schedule
· Responsible for the organising and identification of material and goods coming into Temla
· Offload deliveries and ensure they are identified, stored and marked-up appropriately
· Ensure paperwork is filled in correctly and filed in the general office
· Ensure replacement stocks are logged once in and allocated to the correct area
· Assist laser as required
· Learn the basic of laser operations and assistant with running and maintenance
· Batch jobs and help load and offload daily
· Run the laser to cover for staff holidays/ sickness or dinner breaks
· Learn the basics of the CNC press brake
· Run the press to cover in staff absence or shift rotation
· Help to operate two-man jobs
- Work 2-week rotating shift patterns
- Responsible for leaving the shop floor clean and organised for shift handovers

Non-Essential skills
- COMPETENT ON USING THE LASER HOWEVER WE CAN TRAIN INTERNALLY IF REQUIRED

· Hourly day shift rate: £12.80 per hour
· Hourly night shift rate: £15.36 per hour
· Hourly day shift overtime rate: £19.20 per hour
· Hourly night shift overtime rate: £23.04 per hour

Shift patterns are currently (2 weeks rotating):
Day shift – 6:00 AM to 14:00 PM or 06:00 AM to 16:00 PM (Monday to Friday)
Back shift – 14:00 PM – 12:00 AM Or 16:00 PM – 02:00 AM (Monday – Thur)
