Love cooking but ready to get your evenings back?
We're looking for an experienced Chef to join the team at Planks Kitchen, our busy and growing café based at South Planks Farm near Preston.
This isn't a late-night restaurant role. There are no split shifts, no regular evening service and no finishing at midnight.
Instead, you'll work daytime hours creating high-quality brunch, lunch and café dishes in a unique countryside setting, alongside a supportive team who genuinely care about what they do.
We're looking for someone who is passionate about food, takes pride in maintaining high standards and enjoys working as part of a growing business.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing and serving fresh café dishes to a consistently high standard
- Working closely with our Kitchen Manager
- Running the kitchen independently on the Kitchen Manager's days off
- Supporting and supervising junior kitchen team members
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and food safety standards
- Assisting with stock control, ordering and waste management
- Contributing ideas for specials and menu development
- Helping us continue to grow and improve the customer experience
We're looking for someone who:
- Has at least 2 years' experience working in a commercial kitchen
- Is confident running a kitchen service
- Is organised, reliable and self-motivated
- Takes pride in producing consistently great food
- Works well under pressure
- Has a positive, can-do attitude
- Enjoys being part of a team
