Graze and Grape is an exciting new independent wine and charcuterie business opening in the heart of Th e Historic High Street in Stevenage.
Our beautifully designed shop will specialise in carefully selected wines, artisan cheeses, premium charcuterie, luxury grazing boxes and gifts. Just a few months after opening, we'll also be launching our beautifully converted horseboxes, taking the Grape and Graze experience to weddings, festivals, food shows, corporate events and private celebrations across Hertfordshire and beyond.
We're looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and commercially minded individual to become the face of our business and help build Grape and Graze from the very beginning.
This is far more than a retail management role. You'll have the opportunity to shape a brand-new business, build a loyal customer base and play a key role in our future growth.
The Role
Initially, your focus will be managing the day-to-day operation of our High Street shop, delivering exceptional customer service and creating an outstanding shopping experience.
As the business grows, you'll also lead our mobile events operation, managing our luxury horseboxes at weddings, festivals and private events, helping establish Grape and Graze as one of the region's leading wine and grazing brands.
No two weeks will be the same!
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of the Grape and Graze shop.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and expert product recommendations.
- Advise customers on wine, cheese and charcuterie pairings.
- Build strong relationships with regular customers.
- Manage stock ordering, supplier relationships and inventory.
- Merchandise displays to the highest standard.
- Create luxury gift hampers and seasonal displays.
- Organise and host wine tasting evenings and customer events.
- Support the launch and operation of our luxury horseboxes.
- Attend weddings, festivals, corporate events and private functions.
- Help create engaging social media content and represent the business online.
- Recruit, train and motivate future team members as the business grows.
- Ensure excellent standards of food hygiene, licensing compliance and health & safety.
About You
You'll be knowledgeable and passionate about wine, food and creating memorable customer experiences.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous management or supervisory experience in hospitality, wine retail, premium food retail or a similar customer-focused environment.
- A genuine passion for wine and artisan food.
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
- Confident working independently and taking ownership.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- A positive, enthusiastic and professional attitude.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and events.
- A full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- WSET Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
- Experience hosting wine tastings or customer events.
- Knowledge of artisan cheese and charcuterie.
- Experience creating social media content.
- Experience working at festivals, weddings or outdoor events.
