We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established law firm looking to add a Paralegal to their growing Housing Disrepair team in Manchester. This is a great opportunity for a paralegal who enjoys litigation and wants to build a career with a firm that genuinely invests in its people
You’ll manage your own caseload of housing disrepair claims from instruction through to settlement, supported by experienced fee earners along the way.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing a caseload of housing disrepair files from start to finish
- Drafting letters of claim, court documents, and witness statements
- Liaising with clients, experts, surveyors, and defendant solicitors
- Progressing claims in line with the Pre-Action Protocol for Housing Conditions
- Keeping accurate file notes and hitting key deadlines
- Providing clear, regular case updates to clients
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience in housing disrepair or general litigation (preferred)
- A law degree, LPC, or paralegal qualification (desirable but not essential)
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle a busy caseload
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- A confident, client-focused approach and a good telephone manner
- Someone who works well in a team but can also run with things independently
