The Old Auctioneer is looking to hire passionate and experienced Chefs(Chef de Partie/Line Cooks) to join our team. Compensation & Schedule
- Excellent Pay: Estimated pay of £19.00+ per hour including TRONC (service charge/tips).
- Working Hours: Must be flexible and able to work split shifts and sometimes long days as required by the demands of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Working under the direction of the Head Chef, the position involves:
- Food Preparation & Cooking: Confidently assist in food preparation and execution of dishes on all kitchen stations (Larder, Grill, Fry, etc.).
- Quality & Standards: Adhere strictly to recipes and established procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality output.
- Kitchen Flow: Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations during busy service times.
- Stock Management: Assist in receiving, organizing, and stocking ingredients and supplies, ensuring proper rotation (FIFO).
- Hygiene & Cleanliness: Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas, including assisting with dishwashing and maintaining overall kitchen hygiene to the highest standards.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Required Experience: At least 1 year of proven kitchen experience (as a Chef, CDP, or strong Commis Chef).
- Core Knowledge: Solid knowledge of food preparation techniques and professional kitchen equipment.
- Pace & Pressure: The ability to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding cleanliness, food safety, and plate presentation.
- Communication: Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.
- Passion: A genuine passion for food and a dedication to high culinary standards.
- Further Training: Willingness to learn and receive any additional training provided by the kitchen.
