Responsibilities
- Assist with cleaning and disinfecting kennels, cages, and common areas to maintain a hygienic environment
- Feed, water, and monitor animals’ health status according to established protocols
- Provide gentle handling and comfort to animals, ensuring their safety and reducing stress during their stay
- Walking, exercising and playing with dogs ensuring they are engaged
- Maintain accurate records of dogs and cats by daily observations
- Help with inventory management by organising supplies and notifying staff of stock levels
- Support the overall cleanliness and organisation of the kennels and cattery to ensure a safe workspace for staff and animals alike
Requirements
- Prior experience in veterinary settings or animal care is highly preferred
- Experience handling dog breeds of all types and sizes is desired
- Passion for working with animals and a gentle, caring demeanor
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Ability to follow instructions precisely and work effectively as part of a team
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends or holidays as needed
