Registered Manager
Are you an ambitious Registered Manager who wants to make a real difference — and help shape the future of a growing care business?
M&C Home Support Ltd is looking for an enthusiastic, driven and people-focused Registered Manager to join our team and take the lead in delivering outstanding, person-centred domiciliary care.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who can combine strong operational leadership with a genuine passion for people and business growth. We are looking for a manager who is not only confident in leading a high-quality, CQC-compliant service, but who also enjoys building relationships, spotting opportunities and helping a care business grow.
What will you be doing?
As Registered Manager, you will have a key role in the day-to-day leadership and development of M&C Home Support. You will work closely with the Directors and Care Coordinator to ensure our service is safe, well-run, responsive and continually improving.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the service to ensure consistently high standards of care, safeguarding and CQC compliance.
- Overseeing assessments, care planning, reviews, complaints, audits and quality assurance processes.
- Creating a positive culture where service users, families and staff feel listened to, valued and supported.
- Building strong relationships with local authorities, social services, commissioners, social work teams, GPs and other professionals to strengthen our reputation and create new referral opportunities.
- Taking an active role in business development and growth, identifying new opportunities to increase delivered care hours, develop services and expand our client base.
- Working with the Directors to explore new contracts, referral pathways and opportunities to grow our self-funder market.
- Bringing fresh ideas and innovation to the care sector and identifying ways we can improve and expand our services.
- Leading and supporting the care team, ensuring staff are trained, supervised, motivated and equipped to deliver excellent care.
- Working closely with the Care Coordinator to prepare and issue the weekly rota by Friday, ensuring that all care is fully covered.
- Responding quickly and effectively to cancellations, sickness and unexpected staffing changes to ensure continuity of care and minimise disruption to service users.
- Managing employee relations issues promptly and fairly, creating a positive and professional working environment.
- Ensuring lessons are learned from incidents, complaints, staffing issues and operational challenges, with clear actions put in place to prevent recurrence.
- Supporting service efficiency, financial performance and sustainable business growth.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is more than just a compliance manager. You will be someone who enjoys being hands-on, building relationships and finding ways to make things better.
You will ideally have:
- A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Registered Manager or senior manager within domiciliary care.
- Strong knowledge of CQC requirements and the Health & Social Care Act 2008 and associated regulations.
- A strong understanding of quality assurance, safeguarding and person-centred care.
- Excellent leadership and people-management skills.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Commercial awareness and a genuine interest in business development and growing care services.
- The confidence to develop relationships with local authorities, social services and other professionals.
- Excellent organisation skills and the ability to remain calm and solutions-focused when things don't go to plan.
It would be great if you also have:
- Existing relationships with local authorities, social work teams or health professionals.
- Experience of tendering for local authority contracts.
- Experience of developing and growing a self-funder client base.
- A track record of successfully developing or expanding a care service.
