Join Guardians Recruitment as an Agency/Bank Children’s Complex Care Support Worker and make a real difference supporting children with complex health and developmental needs across the Somerset area.
These are last-minute, crisis, temporary shifts to cover urgent staffing requirements. If you’re flexible, dependable, and able to step in at short notice, we’d love to hear from you.
Duties
- Provide hands-on care to children with complex medical and developmental needs, following detailed care plans developed in collaboration with healthcare professionals
- Assist children with daily activities such as feeding, mobility, personal hygiene, and medication administration
- Communicate effectively with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including updates to individual care plans and progress notes
- Use IT systems efficiently to record shifts, report incidents, and update care records in real-time
- Organize and prioritize daily tasks to ensure all aspects of the child’s care are addressed promptly and thoroughly
- Support children’s emotional well-being through engaging activities and positive interaction
Experience
- Previous experience in nursing or caring for children with complex health conditions is highly desirable
- Valid driving licence with clean driving record
- Valid enhanced DBS
- PMVA certified
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to use IT systems for record keeping and communication purposes
- Compassionate attitude with excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment
- Valid Care certificate/relevant training for the role

Pay: £21.00 per hour
