The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape a brand-new book and music shop at the heart of the community. As Manager, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming and vibrant space that inspires a love of reading and music, while building strong local connections.
Bringing your retail experience and passion for customer service, you will help increase sales and develop the shop, working towards agreed targets and key performance indicators. You will oversee day-to-day operations, leading and motivating volunteers to create an engaging and friendly shopping environment.
You will also support the wider retail team when needed, collaborating with other shop managers to maximise income and maintain high standards across all locations. Confident communication skills are essential, particularly when promoting Gift Aid and highlighting its importance in supporting the work of East Lancashire Hospice.
East Lancashire Hospice
East Lancashire Hospice is a registered charity, founded in 1984. We support and care for patients with a life limiting illness, their families and others close to them. We provide this in a number of ways; at the hospice and in people’s own homes across our community of Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley.
With approximately 120 employees and over 250 volunteers, our people are our biggest asset whom we value tremendously. What we offer
This role is full time (37.5 hours) and the salary is £27,066. The role will be shop based in Clitheroe and will involve managing a team of volunteers.
The successful candidate will be fully supported by an experienced Retail Operations Manager, Head of Retail and Director of Income Generation and Marketing.
