We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Carer (must be a driver with a valid UK driving licence) to join our team in providing exceptional care within a care home environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for senior care. This role offers an opportunity to supervise and support a team of carers, ensuring the delivery of personalised and compassionate care plans to our residents.
The Lead Carer will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of care, fostering a positive environment, and ensuring residents' wellbeing is prioritised at all times.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a team of carers, ensuring they deliver high-quality care aligned with individual care plans.
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, and medication management.
- Develop, review, and update personalised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members.
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, recognising any changes or concerns promptly.
- Provide guidance and training to junior staff members to ensure best practices are followed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities and incidents in accordance with organisational policies.
- Foster a warm, respectful, and safe environment for residents, promoting their independence and dignity.
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals for appointments, hospital visits, and specialised treatments as required.
- Transport residents to appointments, activities, and community outings when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home setting.
- Drive company initiatives related to quality improvement and resident satisfaction.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in senior or residential care environments, preferably within a care home setting.
- Previous supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
- Strong understanding of care plans, health & safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
- Competent IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Compassionate approach combined with organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to inspire confidence and foster teamwork.
This role is vital in ensuring our residents receive compassionate, professional care while supporting staff development within a positive working environment.
Pay: £12.21-£12.71 per hour
