Henlade House is one of four exceptional, independently owned events and wedding venues in the South West, and the newest to the collection. We are looking for a hospitality and events professional, with experience, who will be responsible for sales and operations at this stunning, country house venue.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
(Please note, in the first few months of employment, the successful applicant may be required to be work at one of our sister venues Rockbeare Manor, EX5 2FE OR Coombe Lodge, BS40 7RE for training)
To work alongside a small team during the set up phase of this new venue, looking after our clients, with responsibility for event planning and management, contributing to the supervision of the day to day running of the venue, and to successfully lead the front of house team on event days (including the catering operation). The role requires a high level of personal organisation and attention to detail, and the ability to quickly gain the confidence and respect of both the client and the team.
With a mix of both sales and operations, the successful candidate will contribute to the long-term growth and quality of the business, always maintaining exceptional standards, pride in the presentation of the venue, and upholding the company reputation.
HOURS
This is a full-time role involving running weddings and events, therefore working some bank holidays, evenings and weekends. 5 days per week, with 2 days off.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Showing prospective clients around the venue (both private and corporate), accepting bookings, arranging appointments and building strong relationships with new and potential clients
- Maintaining customer contact through carrying out viewings, meeting and greeting clients and being a constant presence in the venue
- Ensuring administrational accuracy within the events office, and continuity among the team
- Producing detailed function sheets for events
- Organising and management of the venue and catering operation, for a wide variety of different events including weddings, private parties and corporate events from start to finish
- Organisation of the front of house team on event days
- Coordinating the dismantling of the event and clearing the venue efficiently
- Recruitment, development and training of our waiting and bar team
- Coordinating staffing requirements and staff briefings
- Communicate regularly with the Head Chef at Henlade House to ensure good accuracy of information being shared, and a consistent and smooth event delivery
- Ensure that the venue team have the necessary health and safety training in order to properly perform their duties in a professional manner, and to protect company interests
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the hospitality / wedding and events industry
- A successful track record in hospitality and catering operations
- Excellent administrator
- Ability to lead, motivate and inspire others
- A positive and helpful attitude
- High standard of written and verbal skills
- High personal organisation, accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate with people at all levels (internal and external)
