About the Role
Dogstroll Doggy Daycare is looking for an experienced, hands-on Centre Manager to lead our Ockham site. You'll be the most senior person on site day-to-day, responsible for the safe, happy running of the centre and the welfare of every dog in our care.
This role combines hands-on animal care and supervision with people management, customer service and business administration - you'll lead a team of dog handlers , manage relationships with clients, and make sure Dogstrolls high standard of care is maintained.
What You'll Be Doing
- Overseeing day-to-day centre operations - opening/closing, staffing levels, logistics and daily schedules
- Upholding the highest standards of animal welfare, health and safety, risk management and licensing compliance, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met
- Recruiting, training, scheduling, coaching and performance-managing your team members to deliver exceptional standards of care
- Working closely with , mentoring and developing the team leader to ensure consistent leadership, effective delegation and high standards of care across the centre
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients - bookings, drop-off/collection, and day-to-day communication.
- Keeping client, dog and compliance records accurate and audit-ready.
- Supporting marketing and business development to grow bookings and membership.
- Supporting achievement of growth and customer retention targets
- Overseeing the maintenance, cleanliness and presentation of the site, ensuring a safe, secure and welcoming environment for dogs, clients and staff.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a dog daycare, kennels, animal shelter or similar, including supervisory or management experience.
- Strong working knowledge of dog behaviour, body language and breed-specific needs.
- Confident, safe handling of dogs of all sizes and temperaments, individually and in groups.
- Canine first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Right to work in the UK.
Essential Criteria
- Formal dog training, behaviour qualification or a proven record of dog handling
- Previous experience managing /supervising a licensed animal activities premises.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Hold a current DBS or willing to obtain one
