We have a loyal following developed over our 13 years of trading with many regular customers (and their dogs). We have a terrific range of exciting products providing a haven for food and drink lovers, maybe you share this passion too!

JOB SUMMARY
Position title: Store Manager
Reports to: Managing Director
As Store Manager, you are responsible for the daily operation of the store, ensuring the highest performance possible in all areas within the operation through effective collaboration with the Managing Director. The business has three clear offers, the café, the delicatessen and the evening wine bar which you will get to learn and manage.
You will ensure all legal requirements, company policies, risk, and compliance structures are adhered to. You are expected to have full ownership of the store and will lead your team ensuring efficient working processes, a fabulous customer experience, and high-quality products.
Your overall success in the role will require you to lead, develop, and retain a highly engaged team, where all operational requirements are followed in order to deliver the best service to customers. You will be fully accountable for meeting the cost budget, reaching the store's sales targets and profitability with the opportunity to influence how this is achieved.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Servitude Leadership: Effectively lead your team members in a coaching style so that company processes and operational principles are followed.
Recruitment: Responsible for strategic staff planning, recruitment, onboarding of team members and optimal team structuring.
Employee Engagement: Develop and motivate your team through creating development plans and feedback, in-store training, team meetings, generating employee engagement.
Customer Experience: Ensure a customer focussed approach, ensuring customers are served effectively and efficiently whilst building relationships with the locals and beyond.
Operational Requirements: Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy working environment by enforcing hygiene, health, and safety standards.
Rota Planning and Contingency Create an optimal shift pattern to match known demand and seasonal flex, local events, and other circumstances impacting footfall whilst remaining within the agreed resource budget. Managing employee absence and contingency ensuring all shifts are covered at all times.
Stock Handling: Full ownership of stock receiving and handling, including stock counts, internal transfers and supporting the Managing Director to achieve an optimal inventory.
Performance Management: Accountable for building sales and optimising store profitability.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar leadership role
· Experience in being a part of a team of at least 8 employees
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Motivated to become a people-centric leader
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Operational Requirements: Hygiene standard, pest and fire safety control, and overall food standards compliance.
Employee Engagement: Employee engagement, staff retention, positive leadership style.
Customer Experience: Basket spend, customer waiting time, product availability.
Store Performance: Sales, Labour cost, Margin
Applicants must be able to work and cover a mix of early and late shifts including weekends. Shift times are 0600 to 1500 and 1300 to 2200 (sometimes staggered by 30 minutes) Monday to Friday, 0700 to 1600 and 1000 to 1900 at weekends.

Pay: £38,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
