Job type: Full-time, permanent, 37.5 hours per week

About the role
We are an events and exhibitions company looking for a talented Graduate 3D Exhibition & Event Designer to join our creative team.
You will help develop creative concepts for exhibition stands, event environments and brand activations, taking projects from initial ideas through to detailed 3D designs and presentation drawings.
This is a fully remote position, although you will be expected to attend occasional UK site visits, project meetings and in-person team collaboration days. Some travel will therefore be required. Travel costs for required site visits and collaboration days will be subsidised in line with company policy.
This is an ideal opportunity for a graduate or junior designer who wants to develop their career within the exhibitions and live events industry.
Strong working knowledge of SketchUp and SketchUp LayOut is essential. Applicants without experience in both programs will not be suitable for this role.
Key responsibilities
- Creating 3D exhibition stand, event and experiential designs using SketchUp
- Producing accurate presentation and technical drawing packs using SketchUp LayOut
- Developing creative concepts in response to client briefs
- Creating high-quality visuals and presentations for clients
- Applying branding, graphics, materials and finishes to event environments
- Working remotely with project managers, graphic designers, production teams and other members of the creative team
- Participating in virtual design reviews and team meetings
- Attending occasional site visits, project meetings and in-person collaboration days
- Amending and developing designs following client and internal feedback
- Ensuring designs are creative, practical and suitable for manufacture and installation
- Managing multiple projects and working to agreed deadlines
- Preparing clear design information for estimating, production and build teams
Essential skills and experience
- A degree or equivalent qualification in exhibition design, event design, interior design, spatial design, architecture, product design or a related subject
- Strong working knowledge of SketchUp
- Strong working knowledge of SketchUp LayOut
- The ability to produce clear, organised and accurate drawing packs
- A good understanding of 3D space, scale, proportion, materials and construction
- Strong visual communication and presentation skills
- A creative portfolio demonstrating relevant 3D or spatial design work
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- The ability to manage your workload effectively while working remotely
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- The ability to respond positively to feedback and work as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability and willingness to travel occasionally for site visits and team collaboration days
Desirable skills
Experience with the following would be an advantage but is not essential:
- 3ds Max
- V-Ray
- 3D real-time interactive walkthroughs
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
- Exhibition stand, event or experiential design
- Technical drawing or production detailing
- Rendering and visualisation
About you
You will be creative, enthusiastic and keen to build a career within the exhibitions and events industry.
You should be comfortable working independently in a remote environment while remaining communicative, organised and actively involved with the wider team. You will also need to be available to attend occasional site visits, meetings and in-person team days when required.
You will have a strong eye for design and be able to balance creative ideas with practical considerations such as budget, buildability, materials and installation.
