This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that involves working outdoors, handling building materials, and helping ensure customers receive excellent service every day.
Loading and unloading building materials, including timber and roofing products
Picking, checking, and preparing customer orders accurately
Assisting trade and retail customers collecting goods from the yard
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe yard environment
Safely operating forklift trucks (where trained and authorised)
Supporting goods-in and stock management activities
Working closely with colleagues to ensure efficient branch operations
Following all health and safety procedures and company policies
A positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic
Good communication and customer service skills
Previous yard, warehouse, or builders' merchant experience desirable
Forklift Truck Licence preferred but not essential as training may be provided
Full UK Driving Licence preferred
Ability to work safely in a physically demanding environment
Reliable, organised, and team-oriented approach
Product knowledge of building materials would be an advantage
Monday to Friday: 7:30am 5:00pm
Saturday: 8:00am 12:00pm (rota basis where applicable)
