We now have an excellent opportunity for a Multi Skilled Fabric Engineer / Plumber to join our highly regarded NHS repairs and maintenance team. This is a static position based at Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup.
Rydon Maintenance Ltd provides a range of expert planned and responsive hard facilities management services across the NHS on a unique partnering agreement basis. We look after a growing number of healthcare buildings for NHS Trusts. Using the latest technology we ensure properties are well maintained, efficient and fit for purpose.
Key responsibilties Include;
- Carrying out planned and reactive building fabric repairs.
- Diagnosing and rectifying faults relating to plumbing and general building maintenance.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM's)
- Undertake a range of repairs from repairing toilets and sinks, pipework inspections and repairs through to light electrical i.e changing of light fixtures/light bulbs and general wear and tear maintenance.
- Participate in out of hours call out rota (which offers the opportunity to increase your earnings and be involved in additional urgent repairs).
Normal working hours are 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.

Experience Required
Previous relevant experience in the maintenance of buildings is essential, ideally within the NHS or for a maintenance contractor providing services to the NHS. Alternatively, you will have previous experience providing planned and reactive maintenance in a commercial setting (perhaps a hotel, school, supermarkets etc).
You will have a recodnised plumbing qualification and have the ability to undertake a wide range of plumbing repairs but also some other general building skills. This could include: carpentry, plastering etc. Above all you will have excellent customer service skills and be passionate about providing high quality repairs. A full UK driving license is required and the position is subject to a DBS check.
