We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Placement & Activities Manager to lead, coordinate, and oversee emergency placement programmes and associated activities. The successful candidate will manage key stakeholder relationships, supervise staff teams, and ensure the smooth, safe, and trauma‑informed operation of all placement initiatives.
This is a paid position suitable for an individual with strong organisational, leadership, and programme‑management skills who is committed to supporting vulnerable young people and strengthening community resilience.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee emergency placement programmes in collaboration with internal and external partners, ensuring a trauma‑informed approach is embedded throughout.
- Manage relationships with community organisations, local authorities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to support programme success.
- Supervise staff involved in placement and activity delivery, providing guidance, support, and performance oversight to maintain high standards of care and service.
- Coordinate activities, schedules, and resources to maximise efficiency, safety, and positive outcomes for young people.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive administrative records relating to placements, activities, staffing, and stakeholder communication.
- Monitor programme progress, prepare reports, and evaluate outcomes to support continuous improvement and organisational learning.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, safeguarding expectations, health and safety standards, and all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Support recruitment processes for staff involved in emergency placements and activity delivery.
- Ensure all practice aligns with Ofsted expectations for supported accommodation and emergency placements.
Requirements
- Must hold a Level 5 qualification in Leadership & Management for Children (or be in the process of completing it).
- Must be eligible to be registered with Ofsted as a manager .
- Proven experience in relationship management within community, social care, or emergency response settings.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated management experience, including supervising teams and coordinating complex programmes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence liaising with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and professional in high‑pressure or crisis situations.
