Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Window Fitter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining windows across various residential and commercial projects. Your expertise will help ensure that each installation meets safety standards, quality expectations, and client specifications. Responsibilities
- Measure and prepare window openings to ensure precise fitment according to project specifications
- Install a variety of window types using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques
- Remove old or damaged windows safely and efficiently before installing new units
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to guide installations
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and building codes throughout the project lifecycle
- Collaborate with team members such as carpenters, masons, electricians, and plumbers to coordinate tasks
- Conduct quality checks on completed installations, making adjustments as needed for optimal performance
Skills
- Proven experience in window fitting or related construction roles involving roofing, masonry, or carpentry
- Strong knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication processes used in window installation
- Familiarity with schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings for precise project execution
- Ability to work safely with construction painting, plastering, welding, electrical systems, and roofing materials when necessary
- Basic understanding of plumbing and electrical experience beneficial for integrated building projects
- Skilled in using construction site schematics and technical instructions for accurate installation
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to adapt quickly to different trades such as masonry or roofing
