About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our team in Stoke-on-Trent, supporting the delivery of high-quality cable harness solutions.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you will take ownership of projects from design through to production including; interpreting customer requirements, developing costed engineering solutions, and producing detailed manufacturing documentation.
Acting as the technical lead, you will liaise with customers, production teams, and suppliers to deliver projects successfully, while also supporting continuous improvement across the engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Review customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
- Design and develop new products and assemblies to meet the requirements of the project, and manage all documents and processes associated with the project.
- Liaise internally and externally with departments, customers and suppliers to facilitate effective communication and ensure deadlines are met (both remotely via video conference and local in person)
- Drawing Creation and Control.
- Provide support to the quotation process by creating BoMs and labour estimations, feasibility reports and tooling reviews.
- Creating and maintaining production documentation.
- Resolving technical queries and improving processes.
- Support the engineering dept as needed in any required activity to flex with the demands of the business
What We Are Looking For
Essential
- 5+ years’ experience in cable harness design and/or manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of cable harness design, materials, and assembly methods.
- Experience in producing quotes, BoMs and production documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Comfortable working with production teams, customers, and suppliers.
- CAD knowledge and experience 2D (3D beneficial).
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
Desirable
- Background in Aerospace or defence sectors.
- Project management experience.
- Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 or similar standards.
- Experience supporting products from prototype to full production.
Qualifications
- HNC / HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Strong hands-on harness experience will be considered in place of formal qualifications
Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
