Overview
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Safeguarding Lead & HR Compliance professional to champion the safety, well-being, and human resources functions within our organization. This vital role involves ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies, managing HR data and systems, and fostering a positive, secure work environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills, administrative expertise, and a passion for safeguarding practices to support our mission of creating a safe and inclusive workplace for all employees and stakeholders.
Duties
- Safeguarding: Acting as the Safeguarding Lead and managing safeguarding concerns in line with the appropriate procedures.
- Incident response: Acting as the Incident Response Lead, ensuring that incidents are documented correctly, the required protocols are followed and appropriate follow up action is taken.
- Regulatory compliance: Managing applications, registrations and correspondence with relevant authorities, maintaining records and ensuring that statutory and regulatory requirements are met.
- External agency reporting: Reporting relevant matters promptly to external agencies and ensuring that the team is informed of outcomes and any further actions required.
- Staff onboarding: Managing the onboarding process for new staff, including DBS applications, documentation, email correspondence and access to the relevant systems and platforms.
- Training coordination: Enrolling staff onto required training, including paediatric first aid and other mandatory or role specific courses, and monitoring completion.
- Policies and procedures: Developing, reviewing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure consistency across all sites.
- Payroll: Managing a high volume of staff payroll, including checking hours, processing information and resolving payment queries.
- Food registration and compliance: Managing food registration and ensuring that all associated food safety and regulatory requirements are met.
- General operational administration: Managing multiple administrative, staffing, compliance and operational priorities across the organisation, often simultaneously.
- Telephone and operational support: Managing the main telephone line from 8:00 am. to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday, and responding to enquiries from parents, staff, schools, local authorities and other contacts.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
- Strong understanding of human resources principles, safeguarding policies, and compliance standards.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—to effectively liaise across departments and with external partners.
- Demonstrated ability in data entry accuracy and managing multiple HR systems including ATS platforms like Taleo or Workday.
- Familiarity with social media management tools for organizational engagement purposes.
- Previous administrative experience supporting HR functions or safeguarding initiatives is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of data protection regulations and best practices for maintaining confidential information.
