Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and dedicated Cleaner to join our team at Healey House Residential Care Home. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection prevention throughout the home, ensuring a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors and staff.
The role involves cleaning residents' bedrooms, bathrooms, communal areas and staff facilities, following health and safety procedures at all times and working closely with the wider team to support the day-to-day running of the home.
No previous care home experience is essential, although cleaning experience and an understanding of infection control would be advantageous. We are looking for someone who is organised, dependable and takes pride in their work.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain residents' bedrooms, bathrooms, communal areas, offices and staff facilities to a high standard.
- Vacuum, mop, dust and sanitise all designated areas.
- Complete laundry duties, including washing, drying, ironing, folding and distributing residents' clothing and linen.
- Ensure residents' clothing and personal items are correctly labelled and returned to the appropriate resident.
- Change and replace bed linen as required.
- Follow Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) procedures at all times.
- Safely use and store cleaning equipment, laundry equipment and chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.
- Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Replenish consumables such as toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels and sanitising products.
- Report maintenance issues, hazards or damaged equipment to the management team.
- Maintain adequate stock levels of cleaning and laundry supplies and report shortages.
- Ensure residents' environments remain safe, comfortable and welcoming.
- Follow all Health & Safety, safeguarding and company policies and procedures.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of the wider Healey House team.
Pay: £12.75 per hour
