Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Handyman/ labourer to join our team in Camberley. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of maintenance and repair skills to carry out a variety of tasks efficiently and professionally. This role involves working across void properties to ensure all repairs and improvements are completed to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as repairing fixtures, replacing lightbulbs, or patching walls.
- Address minor plumbing and electrical issues (e.g., fixing leaks, replacing switches).
- Repairs and Upgrades:
- Conduct basic carpentry tasks such as assembling furniture, fixing shelves, and repairing doors or windows.
- Carry out minor painting and decorating jobs.
- Install or replace fittings like blinds, curtain rails, or kitchen fixtures.
- Property Inspections:
- Assess properties for maintenance needs and report findings.
- Provide recommendations for improvements or repairs.
- Tools and Equipment Management:
- Ensure all tools and materials are available and in good working condition.
- Maintain an organised work environment and adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Client Interaction:
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction.
- Provide cost estimates for larger repair projects.
- Travel Requirements:
- Travel to various locations using company provided vehicle to London, Milton Keynes, Bristol, and Cardiff as required.
- Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate work across these areas, including occassional overnight stays.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of basic repairs, carpentry, painting, and maintenance tasks.
- Ability to use tools and machinery safely and effectively.
- Basic understanding of plumbing and electrical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence (required for travel between locations), Have own vehicle.
- Own tools and equipment (preferred).
- Flexibility to work in different locations, including occasional overnight stays if needed.
- Commitment to high standards of workmanship and customer service.
