You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team including general dentists, an Oral Surgeon, orthodontic and endodontic clinicians, dental nurses and Treatment Coordinators.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, confident and motivated Dental Hygienist / Dental Therapist who can provide a high standard of care while working independently and collaboratively as part of our wider clinical team.
The successful candidate must be comfortable working across both private and NHS dentistry where required.
For this reason, an NHS Performer Number is an essential requirement for the position.
You will work between our Islington and Kentish Town practices, supporting both routine and more complex patient journeys.
We are particularly looking for someone who understands that hygiene and therapy form an important part of comprehensive dental care, rather than simply providing isolated cleaning appointments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive dental hygiene treatment
- Assess and monitor periodontal health
- Provide periodontal treatment and maintenance
- Carry out scaling, polishing and professional plaque and calculus removal
- Provide Airflow treatment where appropriate
- Develop personalised oral hygiene and preventive programmes
- Educate and motivate patients regarding long-term oral health
- Support patients with gingivitis and periodontal disease
- Manage periodontal maintenance programmes
- Work with implant patients requiring ongoing hygiene and maintenance
- Support orthodontic patients with their oral hygiene needs
- Identify clinical changes and communicate findings appropriately to the referring clinician
- Provide Dental Therapy treatment within your professional scope where qualified
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate clinical records
- Work collaboratively with our dentists and specialist clinicians
- Provide NHS treatment where required
- Maintain excellent cross-infection control and clinical governance standards
- Deliver excellent patient communication and customer care
- Work efficiently within your own clinical diary
- Work across both Kentish Town and Islington according to the practice rota
Technology & Clinical Environment
EB Dental is committed to using modern dental technology to support diagnosis, treatment planning and patient communication.
Our practices utilise iTero digital scanners and CBCT scanning, alongside digital clinical systems.
We therefore particularly welcome clinicians who are confident using modern dental technology or who are enthusiastic about developing their digital clinical skills.
For Dental Therapists
For candidates qualified as Dental Therapists, the position may include restorative and preventive treatments within your GDC scope of practice.
We are looking for clinicians who can confidently manage their own patients while communicating effectively with the referring dentist and wider clinical team.
You should understand when treatment falls within your scope and when further assessment or escalation to another clinician is appropriate.
NHS Requirements
The successful candidate must be able to provide NHS treatment where required by the practice.
Therefore:
A valid NHS Performer Number is mandatory for this position.

We are specifically looking for someone who can support the practice across both NHS and private patient care when required.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Dental Hygienist and/or Dental Therapist
- Current GDC registration
- Valid NHS Performer Number
- Previous dental practice experience
- Strong periodontal knowledge
- Confidence managing periodontal patients
- Excellent clinical record keeping
- Excellent patient communication and education skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to collaborate effectively with dentists and specialist clinicians
- Professional, reliable and organised
- Comfortable working in a busy multidisciplinary environment
- Interest in modern digital dentistry
- Weekend availability is essential
- Ability to work between Islington and Kentish Town
- Existing right to work in the UK
Experience with iTero, Airflow, implant maintenance, orthodontic patients, periodontal care and specialist dentistry would be highly desirable.

Pay: £25,420.00-£66,928.95 per year
