Class 2 Road Sweeper Driver
Pegasus Staff Services Burton Branch are currently recruiting a Class 2 Road Sweeper Driver for there customer based in Uttoxeter. This is an ongoing position that could lead to a permanent role for the right person.
Location: Denstone
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Hours vary depending on work, Weekend work will be required as minimum of 2 weekends a month. Some night work and nights out may be required subject to prior arrangement. (Whilst working within Driver Hours and Working Time Directive)
Job Description
To collect and deliver liquid waste goods from customer sites to specific disposal sites around the UK using an articulated vacuum tanker.
Responsibilities:
- Daily HGV walkaround checks.
- Paperwork correctly filled and updated.
- Unloading deliveries.
- To help maintain a safe working environment in line with H&S Act 1974.
- Working at a height without a harness (approx. 4′ off the ground).
- Occasionally driving Class 2 Tanker/ Jetvac vehicles during peak periods.
- Adhering to Working Time Regulations.
- Liaising with customers.
- Days, late and night shift starts.
- Delivering to various Waste tipping and recycling centres.
- Safe delivery of goods
- To ensure good self-presentation
- To ensure you arrive at your job on time.
- Ensure you inform the transport office of any problems in good time i.e., if you’re running late.
- Fit to drive; considering alcohol intake, daily rest, prescribed/over the counter medication that could affect your ability to drive.
- Ensure all paperwork is correct, completed and returned to the transport office.
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicle
- Lifting and Manual Handling will be required
Requirements:
- Full HGV class 2 licence, Full CPC and Valid Digi card required.
- Maximum of 6 points on license, for insurance purposes.
- Good work Ethic.
- Current CPC.
- Tanker/Jetvac experience is preferred but not essential.
- Flexibility.
- Strong logistical and geographical knowledge.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to be adaptable and flexible with start & finish times.
Pay rates PAYE (PAYE+ holiday accrual available also)
- £15.72 basic
- £55 weekend day bonus
- £77 night bonus
Candidates will need a full UK CII licence with no more than 6 points for minor offences, plus a digi card & driver CPC card.
