Duties
- Planning and directing food preparation activities.
- Prepare high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to food safety regulations.
- Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
- Train, supervise, and mentor kitchen staff to enhance their skills and performance.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative menu items that reflect current trends.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Help resolve any issues that arise during service to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role within the hospitality or restaurant industry.
- Strong knowledge of food production techniques, culinary arts, and food safety practices.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse kitchen team.
- Proficient in various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and other departments.
